Bcorp Certified brand The Bshirt wins prestigious Women in Innovation award from Innovate UK for Circular Fashion innovation
The Bshirt is delighted to announce their recognition by Innovate UK’s Women in Innovation Awards. Businesswoman and mum of two Philippa Doyle is co-founder of the award-winning, sustainable breastfeeding clothing brand The Bshirt.
Philippa launched the Bshirt with co-founder Lisa when they began their journeys into motherhood. Sustainability has been core to the Bshirt brand values from day one and they now plan to embrace Circular Fashion principles because of the incredible impact potential on the planet.
Our slow fashion breastfeeding clothes are already designed to be sustainable - they are premium quality garments made with organic cotton, in classic colours that never go out of style.
The Bshirt’s innovation embraces circular fashion and involves the launch of a clothing rental service for bump, breastfeeding and beyond. Clothing made from recycled materials will be available for rent so that women can access sustainable clothes, in the right size, during each stage of their journey of motherhood. The Bshirt clothing will be repaired when possible and when they are worn out, they will be recycled.
Much of the fashion industry operates unsustainably in terms of water usage, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Here at the Bshirt we believe that circular fashion can help reduce consumption of the earth's precious resources. We are passionate about circular fashion because we believe it really matters, not just to us, not just to the next generation, but to the planet as a whole.

Innovate UK is the UK’s national Innovation agency. The Women in Innovation programme empowers female business leaders to develop commercially-successful solutions to major social, environmental and economic challenges. Women in Innovation is part of Innovate UK’s commitment to promote greater diversity and inclusion in business innovation.
The programme identifies women with exciting, innovative ideas and ambitious plans that will inspire others. The awards are for female founders, co-founders or senior decision makers working in businesses that have been operating for at least one year. The programme support includes a grant for each individual, as well as a bespoke package of mentoring, coaching and business support.
The Bshirt became Bcorp certified in February 2022 with a score of 108.5
